WM STEM

The nuclear industry relies on STEM disciplines for sustainment and advancement. Since 2019, WM has featured a STEM program that has grown to include paper sessions, interactive panel discussions and the STEM Zone at the annual conference, grants to underserved schools, teacher resources, and more. The program has reached more than 5,000 students through STEM kits, STEM program grants, and teacher workshops.

WM STEM Educators’ Council

The WM Symposia, Inc., (WM) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Educators’ Council supports educators as they prepare students for potential careers in the nuclear industry.

The Council provides its members with a venue to network, share best practices, and access resources such as subject-matter experts, teaching materials, and classroom enhancements. Initial funding to set up the Council was provided by a $10,000 STEM grant from Fluor.

Educators’ Council membership is open to U.S. and international educators in K-12 as well as higher education, in both traditional and non-traditional environments.

To apply for membership in the Educators’ Council or to nominate someone, please complete the WM STEM Educators’ Council application.

If you have questions about the Council, please contact Maurya Palmer, WM Conference Manager, at mpalmer@wmsym.org.
